3rd sunday of the month 10am-1pm
 
you need to sign up as a volunteer in order to join us so we can ensure everyone follows our guidance and risk assessment for working safely - see below for the volunteer form

Golcar Lily Environment Group was constituted in June 2016, run by volunteers aiming to improve the appearance of the village of Golcar

bringing local residents together on project mornings and evenings throughout the year

aims:

​improve the appearance of Golcar
engage villagers in environmental activity
organise regular environmental activities
support other groups and local residents
fund our projects through donations, grants and fundraising

activities:

rejuvenating neglected areas
planting and maintaining flowerbeds
litter picking
weeding

progress so far….

created a small garden next to the Co-op on Town End and also at the chemist
renovated the small wood opposite the Colne Valley Museum and re-established the footpath that runs through it
rejuvenated the flowerbeds in Town End car park
​ginnel maintenance and village wide litter picks
currently working in Golcar Park (the rec)

​how to get involved:

project mornings – 10am to 1pm, working on various projects, come any time for as long as you can spare and are held every 3rd sunday (except december), the next date is displayed above and publicised on our facebook page

Working Wednesday – 7pm to dark, starting first Wednesday in May, weeding, watering and litter picking
​
meet by the small wood opposite Colne Valley Museum, children welcome with a responsible adult
