Things to Do
Fun Run – New for 2019. 11:30am on St Johns school field (2 laps of the field). Pre-register on the website (www.golcarlilyday.co.uk). Entry is £5 if pre-registered – pay on the day. You can choose to do this sponsored (forms available on the website or set up a ‘Just Giving’ page) for your own choice of charity.
Drop By Centre – Sycamore Avenue – Food available all day.
Colne Valley Museum – Children’s crafts, Golcar Lily loaves, Art Society exhibition, traditional craft demonstrations, suffragette display, tea room. Open from 10am – 5pm.
Rose and Crown – Snacks and freshly made pizza’s available all day. Clothes Sale (Michelle Chapman), 12:30 – 1:00pm – ‘Fishing for Compliments’ singing group
Library - Information point, lost and found, Golcar Ginnel Trail leaflets, Hero hunt trail sheets. Badge making. Face painting. Childrens crafts.
St Johns Church Yard – Graves of local heroes. 11:30am – Grand Northern Ukulele Festival presents. Colne Valley Voices.
Transport Collection – Open all day.
Scout and Community Centre – Lots of ‘have-a-go’ crafts, face painting, first aid, classic cars, Punch and Judy, tuck shop. Winkle Club Beer Tent and Gin Bar.
Manor Road School Field – Tractor and trailer rides, bungee trampolines, mini crossbows, bouncy castle, football shoot out, sponge throw, coconut shie.
Historia Normannis re-enactment group – camp area to visit and displays at 12:00 and 2:00pm.
Town End/Jubilee Square – Throughout the day - Photo booth, stalls, magician, mountain rescue, pig race, fire engine, Scout MDU – Promoting Golcar Local, Morris dancers.
Around the Village
The village will be decorated with knitting. Hero hunt trail sheets available from the Library – these can be handed in at any venue
