Where the whole community can come together
Golcar Lily Day is in the dynamic village of Golcar, on the edge of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire where the locals are known as Golcar Lilies. The local village fete, has an art exhibition, face painting for the children and fun and events for all ages.
Colne Valley Museum will be open all day offering children's make-it-and-take-it-home activities as well as baking the famous Golcar Lily Loaf in the Victorian kitchen. There will be ongoing craft demonstrations throughout the day and delicious homemade cakes etc on sale in the cafe.
Local churches including the Baptist, Providence Methodist, Scapegoat Hill Baptist and St John's will be putting on their own events and holding their regular services while Golcar Brewery on Swallow Lane continues to make artisan beers.
Golcar's local butcher Howard Copley continues their sale of pies, pasties, quality meats and Golcar Lily sausages.
The Community Centre is home to Golcar Scout Group throughout the year with activities all day.
There will be three BBQ's run by Golcar Lily Day to keep you well fed; by the zebra crossing, by the beer tent.
